Ballrooms on tour

Ballrooms welcomes everyone to the dance floor for a vibrant mix of music, movements, styles, people, and appearances. Ballrooms is more than just a party; it is a space for co-creation where everyone is invited to participate. And why not you? The space is open to all your ideas and desires to share your movements.

During the week leading up to Ballrooms, Andrew Graham invites local organizations and anyone who wants to join a marathon of workshops in waacking, dabke, tango, spoken word, pole dancing… in an open studio where all these dance adventures can be reinvented.
At Ballrooms, everyone is welcome: your grandmother, your children, your exes,... regardless of their dance experience, a disability or not, or their financial situation. This creative week culminates in a three-hour dance party, where workshop participants and the general public come together on the dance floor to meet and connect.

What makes this ball different is that you'll encounter people on the dance floor who each have a different idea of how to dance and what can be done on a dance floor. Choreographer Andrew Graham of L'Autre Maison in Marseille guides the entire process, with the entire laGeste team.

Together, you'll prepare the ball where all these unique encounters and the resulting creations come to life, in the form of demonstrations and small improvised dances, while a DJ continues to make everyone else present and simply there to dance move.
