Misha Demoustier

Misha Demoustier is a Belgian dancer and choreographer. As a performer, he has worked in recent years with, among others, VOETVOLK/Lisbeth Gruwez, Ultima Vez (Zoë Demoustier), Arkadi Zaides and laGeste. Through these diverse artistic practices, he has developed a strong, physical and versatile stage presence, while deepening his interest in the relationship between body, movement, image and sound.

Drawing on this experience, his practice is increasingly shifting towards combining performing with creating his own work. With As we are passing, he is creating his first full-length choreographic work in collaboration with laGeste. Starting from the body, the work explores the invisible tensions between the individual and the crowd, distance and connection. It marks a first step in an independent artistic practice in which physical presence and absence, vulnerability, intensity and imagination come together.

Demoustier is self-taught and initially developed his artistic practice through his experience on stage. His journey began at a young age with, among others, kabinet k, fABULEUS and Kopergietery, where he gained his first stage experiences. He later also worked with DOX, Theater Malpertuis and wpZimmer. These diverse experiences in dance and theatre continue to form the foundation of his current practice as a performer and maker.
