During the symposium on the necessity of development within the performing arts field, artists engage in dialogue with one another. Starting from their own practice, they share what is needed for work to grow and reflect on the importance of processes that often remain invisible to the audience. The conversations take place on Saturday with Amir Sabra and Ehsan Hemat, Louis Thuriot and Rosslyn Wythes; and on Sunday with Lisaboa Houbrechts and Zoë Demoustier, Arkadi Zaides and Sophie Warnant.

This symposium is based on developed@laGeste, a part of the organisation’s activities that usually takes place behind closed doors. At present, the focus is mainly on providing infrastructure. In the future, it should be more than that: we want to make all aspects of our work available to the creative process of young makers, even when it is not necessarily production-oriented.

To support this work, we engage in conversation with young and emerging makers, who are best placed to articulate their needs and expectations.
