Rint Mennes

Rint Mennes is a Brussels-based composer/musician specializing in sound design for dance and theater. In 2021, he graduated in the Bachelor ‘Studio Engineer’ at PXL Music (BE). During his studies, he developed more and more as a composer for dance and theater, starting to use his technical expertise as an instrument. As a multi-instrumentalist and with this electro-acoustic approach, he creates experimental soundscapes that demonstrate a profound sensitivity to the narrative power of sound.

Applying foley techniques and incorporating fieldrecordings, he produces cinematic compositions in which he plays with the balance between naturalism and sentiment.

He contributed to the dance and theater performances What Remains and Unfolding an Archive by Zoë Demoustier, Person Longing for Human by Charles Pas, Scapegoat by Ferenc Balcaen, Wat Was En Wat Nu by Fabuleus, Victory Boogiewoogie by Stephen Liebman/Charles Pas, and movies such as Lonely Day by Sam de Nef, Crowded Year by Ramy Moharam Fouad, Schaduwvolk by Gus Wolf Wickerhoff, All The Time by Amélie Derlon Cordina, as well as in the band Danny Blue and the Old Socks by Sam de Nef.
