Isabel Dao

Isabel Dao is a Vietnamese-Norwegian dance artist and performer based between Oslo, Amsterdam and Brussels.
She holds a Bachelor degree in dance from the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK). During the final year of her studies, she worked as a performer with Danielle Huyghe, Ida Haugen, and assistant choreographer for Tú Hoàng with Lên Ngàn company in Vietnam. In 2026, she worked as a performer with Tú Hoàng in Autumn Scent / Thu Hương, produced by Korzo Theater and Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT). Furthermore, she has performed and collaborated with Nagelhus Schia Productions, Izah Hankammer and Zoë Demoustier. Isabel is also part of Panta Rei Danseteater, co-creating the solo Don´t Panic with Thi Mai Nguyen for Oslofjorden Danser 2026.

With dance as a strong foundation, she works across disciplines through physical theatre, voice work and visual art. In her artistic practice, she is interested in exploring perspectives related to fluid identities, displacement/belonging and the experiences from the Asian diaspora.
Isabel is also a co-founder of the dance collective delay no more alongside Jessi Zhang, Kiu-Yan Cheng & Mashiro Tamura. The collective will premiere their first performance in Fringe Festival Amsterdam 2026.
