Ata Khatab

Ata Khatab is a Palestinian dancer, Choreographer and trainer. He is the living memory of Palestinian folk dance.
In 2011 he danced in 6 seconds in Ramallah and in 2012-2013 he created and danced in Badke, a co-production of KVS, les ballets C de la B and Qatan Foundation but had to drop out at the beginning of the tour with an injury.

Since 2012, Ata has been associated with El-Funoun, the folk dance group his father still co-founded. As head choreographer, he created Tallat, a Palestinian folk dance performance, for El-Funoun in 2014.
His performance The Rooster, which he choreographed together with Meled Andare, was at Vooruit Arts Centre (Ghent) in 2018. Afterwards, he spent 14 months in an Israeli prison, something his father and sister had already done before him.
In 2021, he choreographed Ashira for El-Funoun. Meanwhile, in Ramallah, he also runs a popular restaurant.

Ata, together with Amir Sabra, is creating the remake of Badke in 2025, becoming Badke(remix). A production by laGeste and Stereo For Arts & Culture planned for June 2025.
