Eddie Devos

“The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.” Nat King Cole

Movement and dance have always come naturally to Eddie, and they still do. As a teenager and young adult, they offered him a sense of grounding and identity. As his mind and body evolved, so did his way of dancing - yet the core always remained the same. He views dance as something that can serve many purposes: pleasure, experience, processing, research, creation, and communication, and in the latter case, even as a social skill.

Through historical dance, street theatre, salsa, contemporary dance, and singing, Eddie has built a broad and rich artistic background over the years. He has participated in a variety of projects and productions, including Alchemie by Alain Platel for Klapstuk Leuven, De vendelzwaaiers (street theatre directed by Carl Gydé and Guido Malisse), Emotional Landscapes by Ido Batash, Multitud by Tamara Cubas, Le Sacre du Printemps by les ballets C de la B, and Mein Gent directed by Alain Platel, Frank Van Laecke, and Steven Prengels.

Eddie has also been involved in inclusive dance workshops at laGeste, working with artists such as Gilles Polet, Arno Ferrera, Dan Daw, and Andrew Graham, as well as in No One’s Gonna Love You Like Me by Steven Prengels for laGeste.

His development as a dancer has been further nurtured through numerous workshops and courses with Wisper, Danspunt, laGeste (Ballrooms), and Platform-K, studying with a wide range of teachers including Tchi-ann Liu, Isabella Daffara, Daniel Linehan (Hiatus), Alexandros El Greco, Tijen Lawton, Chen-Wei Lee, Natasa Franzi, Berengère Bodin, Mareille Labohm, and David Hernandez, among others.
